In general there are mainly two communist (socialist) states where all the political power is consolidated by one of the communists parties, (Since the cold war the communist party of India has broken apart into many other smaller parties, the largest are predominently the Maoist and Naxatile parties, which follow very harsh socialist principles similar to those in Stalin's USSR.) are Kerla in the South and West Bengal which borders Bangladesh. All though in some of these states, the communist party maintains a strong hold onto it, and by democratic means in some instances, the Indian federal government has classified these states as over-run by terrorists.
