There are many political parties in India. Some are of National status like the BJP and CONGRESS, LEFT....and many are of Regional status like AIADMK, DMK, RJD, Akali Dal., etc. Everywhere a new party is formed. It can be taken as a drawback for India's Multi- Party system.
At the National level, there are approximately 20 registered political parties. Only three political parties have Official Party status in the House of Commons: Conservative Party (government), New Democratic Party (Official Opposition), Liberal Party (minority party). Political parties without Official Party status are the Bloc Québécois (4 members), and the Green Party (1 member).
There are many third parties in the United States aside from the Republican Party and the Democratic Party, but the most well-known and prominent ones are the Green Party, Libertarian Party, Constitution Party, Reform Party, Socialist Workers Party, Labor Party, Populist Party, and the Communist Party.
Do to stringent ballot access laws in most states, it will be different from state to state. The Democratic Party and the Republican Party are a given, most states will probably have the Libertarian Party and also the Constitution Party also.
