Will a bad solenoid make no noise when you turn on ignition?

If your battery has a full charge, and NO noise is heard. It is most likely a lose or broken wire from the battery to ignition switch or from ignition switch to solenoid. A bad neutral switch may also be the problem or a blown fuse. A clicking noise would indicate bad solenoid contacts or a low battery charge. Although the a solenoid may be at fault, the other reasons are more likely. Note: On cars without automatic transmissions, check the clutch interlock switch.

You try to start car and all ihear is a slight popping noise coming from the engine and nothing else why?

With cars you always start with the simple answers, and go from there. That way you save yourself time and money. The next thing that I would check is the starter, ignition wires, ignition, etc...

It makes a klick noise when you start with the key?

Why is my 2004 Mercury Monterey make a clicking noise and won't start?

I would suspect the battery has been discharged, is defective, or you have loose or corroded battery terminals. Remove and clean the terminals and if that does not solve the problem charge the battery with a battery charger. If it will not take a charge then replace the battery.

The popping noise in your water heater could be due to sediment buildup at the bottom of the tank. As water is heated, the minerals in it can form deposits that create air pockets.
