Because during the design process Chrysler were offered three roof systems by the roof suppliers, one that was cheap, but would not work, one that was a little more expensive but worked better and one that worked perfectly but was the most expensive. Because those who make the decisions of this sort get bonus' based on how far under budget their programs are, the person in charge chose the cheapest roof system which had inadequate water management. He got a nice big bonus and you get wet carpets.
On a more serious note, look at how flat the roof is and then look at how small and flat the roof water management channels are, Chrysler simply forgot the simplest rule of water management, Gravity is your friend...

if the valves have a place for a wrench to fit, usually they were threaded in. some plumbers still solder threaded valves & you can easily see the solder around the threads. If the outlet box is plastic, chances are they are threaded in.

You didn't mention whether you've changed the coil wire itself. If it's faulty, you'll get no spark anywhere. Also, the power supply to the coil or module could be at fault.

Not sure why, (might have something to do with leaving my cellfone car charger plugged in most of the time, whether the cellfone is connected or not) but this happened also on my 2005 Buick Rendezvous. I thought I'd checked all the fuses, but turns out the fuse is in the under the hood fusebox, not the one inside the car - passenger side left - console. I found the correct fusebox under the hood, passenger side close to the windshield. A 20 amp fuse was blown, the one for the 2 cigarette lighters. There's another cigarette lighter (or power outlet) at the rear of the 2005 on the left side of the hatch opening interior. This one was still working! PS - dealer wanted $138 for diagnosis when I asked this question, I did a little research, bought mini-fuses (which are the right ones), replaced the fuse, everything working perfectly now - not bad for a 68 yr old great-grandma with big curiosity about how things work!

Did you (whoever built the engine) use the supplied rubber gaskets for the block ends? If so, you may want to remove them and use a nice bead of Silicone Gasket maker for those, and tie into the intake gaskets as well. Those rubber gaskets like to leak badly. Just be sure NOT to use anything on the actual intake gasket whether intake side or head side and you should be good to go.

Head Gasket repair on 98 subaru cheap or?
I payed my mechanic $1200, it was mostly labor. I think the gaskets cost $400. Due to the engine being a boxer, it has to be lifted completely to get to the gaskets. This is a labor intensive operation whether you do it yourself or pay someone..

head gaskets are the worst, and i dont know why a 98 would need them replaced, but since its in progress it would be better to get them both replaced just so down the road you wont have to replace the other 1, and there both new. Thanks for your reply. The van had the rear gasket replaced in February 2005 under an extended warranty repair. This past week the engine check light went on and the van had white smoke everywhere. When we took it back to the dealership they diagnosed that the other head gasket went and provided an estimate of $2,400. I spoke with a friend of mine who is a mechanic and he stated that 9 out of 10 times as a matter of course they change both gaskets since the majority of cost is the labour involved. He also said that the "other" gasket is generally compromised when everything is taken apart. At the very minimum I advised the dealer that they should call the customer and let them make the decision as to whether both gaskets should be replaced. I would of been happy to absorb the extra cost of the gasket replacement and would probably not of been in the situation I am now. Is this something I should pursue with the dealer and the company? All thoughts and comments are welcome. Thank you.
