i have a 1984 bronco 2 and the ignition control mod went bad on it. It turned over but had no spark. The part was about 40 dollars and is located on the distributor. It takes a special tool to take it off. I changed mine and it started first try.
You replaced the ignition lock, and it will not shift out of park? If that is the situation, it sounds like the column is out of sync. More details are required to give a solid answer. A more common issue with these is the actuator rod in the column breaks. If you replaced the lock because it was turning hard and wasnt always cranking when turned, this may be your problem instead of the lock.

there might two one is under the dash and the other is on the distruber(sp)
ignition is sticking and let me guess it was rolling try a parkin brake I am having the same problem. I don't know the answer yet, but I know that the response above is insulting. I can tell you that it, in my case and possibly yours, is not the key switch, the ignition switch, the solenoid, or the voltage regulator.
I would suspect the ignition module. It is attached to the distributor with 2 screws.
factory specs for distributor position then everything else is electronic
is there any corrosion on the spades of the coil?or on the connectors?you say DIS,i think distributorless ignition system that an 89 doesnt have,is that correct?or are you meaning distributor cap?
To replace the distributor in an '86 Bronco, first disconnect the battery and remove any components obstructing access to the distributor. Mark the position of the old distributor for proper alignment, then remove the ignition wires and the hold-down clamp. Lift out the old distributor and install the new one, ensuring it aligns with the marks you made earlier. Finally, reconnect the ignition wires, reassemble any removed components, and reconnect the battery.
Thick film IV ignition system. Attached to the outside of distributor
it could be the control module
If the motor is a 5.8L Windsor the Coil is directly under the distributor cap in the front of the motor on the right hand side.
The distributor cap on a Ford Bronco II is typically located on the engine's intake side, mounted on top of the distributor itself. To access it, you'll need to remove any surrounding components that may obstruct your view. The cap is usually secured with clips or screws and connects to the ignition wires and rotor inside the distributor. Always ensure the engine is off and cool before attempting to access or replace the distributor cap.
fuel pump or the ignition module needs to be replaced
sounds like an ignition coil
Replace the pick up coil it's inside the distributor. This may fix it.
