i have a 2007 chevy cobalt.it only has 17000 miles on it. i had a remote car starter put in a year and ahalf ago. i never had a problem. now when i start my car it makes a clicking noise.the noise goes away after a few seconds and i can still drive the car.
Bad starter is easy: when you turn the car on provided your battery is good, you will hear a click in the engine compartment, but the car will not start.
Sounds like the battery or maybe the starter.
It is either the solenoid or the starter is shot
most likely tha starter is bad or the power to the starter is bad
your battery is dead or the starter solenoid
you get the car keys to it and you click the green car
starter
faulty starter motor
Maybe someone pressed the automatic remote starter button (if the car has the ARS)
you had your keys in the first click Is your key in the accessory position?

There is two options not enough power it the battery or a bad starter

Batteries don't "click," but other parts do. If you're hearing that "click," it's probably the starter solenoid trying to engage. Either the battery's charge is low, the starter solenoid has failed, or the starter motor itself has failed. On some older cars, especially Fords, the "click" could also be a remote starter relay.
Not the starter, but the weight of the keys can be damaging to the ignition key cylinder.
just click in everywhere you want to move your car or with arrow keys
