first of all if you have a good battery and im not saying you do but it could be fuel or air intake, your starter, or loss of compression..
but to test a battery you have to check it before you start your car then get someone to crank it and test it again because all battery will keep a surface charge but they loose that once a load is applied
A fully charged 12 volt automobile battery will read 12.6 volts with the engine not running and 13.5 to 15.5 volts with the engine running. It will read 12.4 volts with a 75% charge, 12.2 volts with a 50% charge and 12.0 volts indicates a 25% charge.
yes it can and if you run the engine long enough after u jump start it you can recharge the battery Also, you might want to check to see if the alternator is alright because a bad one might be why your battery is dying unless you know it is a bad battery specifically.
its a ignition coil which changes 12 volts of battery to a several thousands volts which is required for spark plug to create an ignition.
Alternator can be discounted for starting problem; it charges the battery when the engine is running it has nothing to do with starting the car. If the engine is not turning over (cranking) when you try to start it, either the igniton switch, wiring or starter motor are at fault. Also check the thick cable from battery negative/body to the engine block. NOTE if the car is automatic the park/neutral switch could be faulty. If the car is alarmed it could be an immobilizer fault. Difficult to know from your question but if engine starts with charged battery, check WITH ENGINE RUNNING for 14 volts approx across battery terminals. If volts less than 12, swap out the alternator
You need a new battery or it has a battery cable connection problem. The battery needs a full charge too - like driving around for an hour to charge it back up. A voltmeter is useful to read battery voltage when cranking. 12.6 volts =full charge. When cranking it may drop to 10 volts. If the starter won't turn over use the voltmeter to check for the 12 volts on the battery and then starter battery cable connection point.
battery weak or alternater is not charging battery. a fully charged battery should read at least 14.5 volts running if alternater is charging.with engine off the battery should read about 13 volts,
When the alternator starts charging the battery voltage will increase about two volts to charge the battery.
It is normal for the gauge to increase slowly when you first start the vehicle. This is because the voltage regulator is compensating for the power that has been drained from the battery during starting the vehicle. The voltage should stop around 15 volts though, if it continues above 16 volts you could have a bad regulator. Voltage above 16 volts can damage your battery and other electrical equipment in your vehicle.
12 volts!!! 12 volts!!! Real Answer 13.1 volts (Depending on Battery)
An AG10 button battery typically has a voltage of 1.5 volts.
12 volts
What voltage battery are you referring to? An automobile battery is 12 volts and a fully charged auto battery should read 12.6 volts.
Yes, a battery with only a 25% charge will read 12 volts. A fully charged battery will read 12.6 volts.
1.55 volts
Generally 1.5 volts
A good AA battery has about 1.5 volts across it.
That depends on the battery. A car battery makes 12 volts. An AA cell battery makes 1.5 volts.
