Yes, you can start diesel engine even if you don't have battery in!
There is no such engine as a Cummins 2500 Diesel.
If it is a diesel engine it could be the glow plugs.
If you try immediately after it has turned off it may be vapor locked. The diesel will become gaseus and will be in the form of vapor which will not ignite correctly. It should, of course start immediately. Just let it set for several minutes then try again.
There is a chance of it, that engine has glow plugs, starting fluid can explode when the glow plugs come on causing engine damage. Before using starting fluid on this type engine, make sure glow plugs are not plugged in, and can not come on.
no diesel
Most diesel engines are hard to start when it is cold. Plugging the diesel engine block heater in will help the engine start.
A frail fuel line can cause a diesel engine not to start.
There isn't one set answer for this. It'll have to do with the displacement of the engine, the output of the starter required to get it to crank at enough speed to start, etc. Huge difference between, say, a 4.6 liter Land Rover V8 and a 12.0 liter Detroit Diesel 8V92 diesel V8.
we can start it with the help of keys
Yes it is possible to push start a diesel engine vehicle.
To replace the thermostat in a Rover 400 diesel 2.0L, start by ensuring the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Drain the coolant from the radiator, then remove the hoses connected to the thermostat housing. Unscrew the housing to access the thermostat, replace it with the new unit, reassemble the housing and hoses, and refill the coolant. Finally, reconnect the battery and check for leaks after starting the engine.

There could be several reasons why your Rover 75 diesel won't start. Common issues include a dead battery, fuel delivery problems such as a clogged fuel filter or air in the fuel lines, or issues with the starter motor. Additionally, electrical faults such as blown fuses or faulty sensors can prevent the engine from starting. It's advisable to check these components systematically to identify the specific problem.
Not in any modern diesels. Some old diesel tractors from the 1940's where gasoline start and then ran on diesel once the engine was warm. Those did have carburetors. Not in any modern diesels.
