There is a chance of it, that engine has glow plugs, starting fluid can explode when the glow plugs come on causing engine damage. Before using starting fluid on this type engine, make sure glow plugs are not plugged in, and can not come on.

Can you use ether to start a flooded engine?

No, too much fuel already. Prop open the butterflies in either the Carburetor or the one on the Mass Air Flow sensor and let it evaporate for about 30 minutes then you can use ether.

How can I keep a 1999 Dodge 2500 Diesel from dropping fuel pressure sparatically besides replacing the lifter pump and or relay?

if you loose pressure in system, you obviously have a leak. you need to find the fuel leak. make sure fuel filter is seated and sealing correctly, then examine all fuel lines from tank to pump, pump to injectors and pump to tank return line. if you have ever used ether to start the diesel, the ether ruins o rings in the fuel lines.the orings now being made of some inferior material

How do you restart a Pontiac Grand Am after running out of fuel?

Spray starting fluid in the throttle body (at the end of the large hose at the motor opposite of where the air filter is) and get it running on the ether, then it should take off on its own. But put in gas first. If you don't have ether (starting fluid), you can also cycle the ignition key to bring fuel to the motor. That is turn the key to the on position (not run), listen for a hum (electric fuel pump), when it ends turn the off. Wait 5 seconds, turn the key back to the run position, and repeat this five times. If this doesn't work, then you have a different problem.Ether should be used sparingly because it can cause damage to your engine.Another Suggestion:Ether is unnecessary, just add gas to the tank, turn the key on and off a couple of times to run the fuel pump, and start.

silicone glue is resistant to most things but it is not resistant to ethyl ether. Ethyl ether will make it craze and disintegrate Ethyl ether may dissolve ink on a paper so try it on a text piece first. Ethyl ether is hard to get so petroleum ether which is what is in a can of engine starting fluid will work too. Do all your work outside away from flame or sparks and don't breath the fumes! Don't use this in the garage as the gas hot water heater or furnace will make the whole garage explode It is a good idea to wear eye protection and poly gloves. Avoid skin contact and follow all the advice on the engine starting fluid can.
