This is gonna be fairly unspecific but it sounds as if you have some loose electrical wiring and it is probably grounding out or shorting out on your frame. Once you find the break or loose wiring clean it up and you should be ok.

What if your car makes a clicking sound when you try to crank it?

If your car makes a clicking sound when you try to start it, try to jump the battery. If that starts it, check the electrical system and if it was the battery, replace the battery. If jumping it does not fix it, have a mechanic look at it.

Why won't a 1994 Chevy cavalier start unless it is jumped. The ABS makes a clicking noise and we have changed the alternator.?

Generally, if a car engine will not turn over without a jump start, the battery is not charged. Either the alternator is not charging it, or the battery has failed and will not hold a charge. Since you have replaced the alternator, that leaves the battery. You can have your battery tested at an auto parts store before buying a new one. It is also possible that there is something draining your battery while the engine is off. The clicking noise from the ABS indicates possible electrical system malfunctions that are best diagnosed by a professional mechanic.

After not starting your car for 3 days the battery is being drained If you unhook your battery for those 3 days will it save the battery?

If your battery is good and you know your car is draining it then yes, disconnecting your battery from your car will keep your battery charged for much longer than 3 days. Your battery should stay charged way longer than 3 days in normal conditions being hooked up to your car. You should get it checked out and figure out what is draining your battery so fast.

Why would a car make a clicking noise when you try to start it?

dead battery..not enough chargeAnswerA loose connection can also cause the clicking, check the cables. If the battery is years or older, replace it. The alternater may not be charging the battery or there may be a parasitic draw draining the battery. AnswerIt could be anything electrical. Most likely, if the battery is charged, and the cables are tight, it could be the starter. More commonly the solenoid. Try tapping the solenoid with the car off, and try starting it. If after this, the car starts.. then you need to check into replacing the solenoid, or the entire starter motor, if the solenoid is connected to the starter.

What can be draining your battery when the car isn't running?
