depending on year..... (fuel injection)cold start valve not working try removing it and clean it with carb cleaner if it dont work replace it. (carburettor when cold only) choke not working undo the 3 small screws holdong the choke mechanism to the carb turn the choke unit so the tension on the brass butterfly tightens (at top of carb primary venturi) but not too much if the butterfly is already shut speed up the choke idle speed located behind and to the rear of the choke mechanism. damp in ignition system ( but this would usuall cause running problems too) remove distributor cap dry inside with a rag and spray wd40 or water repellant and refit cap.. also spray around spark plugs and coil, but remember to dry first cos wd4o can trap the damp inside added by bheilers: you also might consider checking the OVPR (overvoltage Protection Relay) located on the firewall in the engine compartment behind the batter on most models. It would either have 2 10 amp fuses on the top or if its a aftermarket brand, would have a single 10amp fuse. Check the fuse(s) if they or it is blown replace and try starting the car again. the OVPR is a common issue with the 190 and 300 series MB's

Yes, a faulty coolant temp sensor can do that.

You probably need a new set of plug wires. If the ones on it are original, they are probably breaking down and have a lot of resistance as opposed to a new set.
The most common cause for hard starts is cold weather. Batteries have different amounts of cold cranking amps. You may need to get a bigger battery with more cold cranking amp power.
Most diesel engines are hard to start when it is cold. Plugging the diesel engine block heater in will help the engine start.
hi! cold start valve.
2004 mercedes benz tuneover but want start
The 1985 Mercedes 190e could have a stuck choke. Check the choke mechanisms to start with, to see if that's the problem.
check igntion coils
May be (probably) the cold start valve. I'm not sure how to check it to see if that's the problem. They are expensive even if purchased aftermarket. Good luck!
its too cold
It is not so much hard for a car to start when the engine is cold as it is easier for a car to start when the engine is warm.Cars that are hard to start in the cold are usually not new cars any more and because of wear and tear there is more likely to be something that doesnt work as well. when fuel is warm it ignites more easily.
They seem to freeze a little in cold weather.
It means it is very hard to start and keep running in cold weather.
My 1991 740 volvo turbo doesnt start specially during the morning. Is it comes with a cold start valve?
Hello Have you check the Coil ? A lot of them go bad . and give you a hard start when Cold . stop using low grade gas can be causing water in fuel lines to injectors.89 or higher and use heet additive to gas to prevent freezing.this should help with hard start in cold weather.
