Maybe you added too much oil? Overfilling can cause just as many problems as being too low on engine oil. Be sure to check the dipstick after adding oil.
Yes, Driving a vehicle for any sustained period of time, Low on or Lacking oil Can cause severe engine damage, All engines can be damaged with insuffiecent lubrication as it increases friction and promotes rapid engine wear. As Long as you have added oil to the vehicle, and there is no knocking, smoking, tapping or otherwise unexpected operation, then it should be fine and may not have severe damage.
Smoking all the time is probably the piston rings. Smoking when you first start it is probably the valve seals. Smoke may be coolant and not oil which would mean a head gasket, cracked head or block. What color smoke makes a difference. Black smoke, to much fuel (flooding). Blue smoke, engine oil. White smoke, engine coolant.
crankcase oil is the oil in the engine .some call it crankcase oil some call it engine oil
The 2001 Toyota Corolla engine oil capacity is 4.5 quarts of motor oil. For quarts of oil will go into the engine and one half quart of oil will be in the oil filter.
Keeps engine oil cooler by dissipating heat from engine faster inturn giving your engine longer longevity. If you are hard on your engine by towing or going up steep hills often(If you live in mountain area)it will double your engine life by reducing wear caused by engine heat..use a synthetic blend..it also helps.
Probably not a good idea. There is a product called Moror Honey which is added to oil to help reduce engine smoking. However, it is not real honey.
The engine is burning oil
the smoking is most likely caused by the engine burning oil.
Oil filler cap cover the hole in the engine where engine oil is added
if the engine is smoking and overheating the head gasket is blown or you popped a freeze plug
engine smoking indicates overheatingdue to low coolant and/or oil if it shutdown because of overheating you may have already done serious damage
Look at the engine on your lawn mower. If the engine has an oil filler tube or a "hole" with a cap on it where oil is added to the engine, it is a 4-cycle (4-stroke) engine. If there is no oil filler tube or place to add oil to the engine, then it is a 2-cycle (2-stroke) engine and the oil has to be added to the fuel.
If it is a 2-stroke engine, 2-cycle engine oil is added to the gasoline. If the engine is 4-stroke, regular 30W motor oil is used. To tell if your engine is 2-stroke or 4-stroke, look for a spout where oil is poured into the engine. If there is no spout, then the engine is 2-stroke and 2-cycle oil must be added to the gasoline.
On one side of the engine, there will be a cover marked "OIL" or a symbol like an oil can. This is where engine oil is added.
If the engine has an oil sump and an oil filler spout, it is a 4-cycle engine. On a 2-cycle engine, oil must be added to the fuel.
added to much oil If you added too much oil that can and will cause engine wear and damage. If you are loosing Oil it is either being burnt, or it is leaking. If it is burning oil it is normally caused by worn piston rings.
Coolant added to engine oil? It would run but it would do serious damage to internal parts of the engine and drastically shorten the life span of the engine. Don't run it! Have the oil and filter changed NOW.
