The Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea party contributed a lot in starting the Revolutionary War. The Stamp Act and the Townshend Acts were passed years before which put the patriots on the verge of exploding. Then the night of March 5th 1770, the Boston Massacre occurred which got the colonists even more to the point that they will attack the Parliament and British government. This news reached England 1 year later and the King had enough of their games so he declared that British troops were sent to Concord to deplete the area of their weapons and militia. This was the start and the end resulted in a long and gory battle between the Patriots and England.

The Boston Tea Party played an important role in history because it pretty much set up the American Revolution. Colonists had grown tired of the heavy handed ruling of England and were no longer willing to pay extra taxes on the goods they used every day. As the tea was dumped into the harbor, America grew her first backbone against her colonial keeper.

The Americans were protesting both a tax on tea (taxation without representation) and the perceived monopoly of the East India Company.

The Townshend Acts passed by Parliament in 1767 and imposing duties on various products imported into the British colonies had raised such a storm of colonial protest and noncompliance that they were repealed in 1770, saving the duty on tea, which was retained by Parliament to demonstrate
