It could be the wrong key...not inserted completely (or inserted to far if the lock is damaged)...the steering wheel lock could be exterting extra pressure on the lock (try moving the steering wheel a bit to see if that helps)
1997 Toyota Camry Key Wont turn, Ignition Lock problem -1997 toyota camry FIXED!!! I see a lot of Douches with a capital D trying to charge people to fix this extremely common issue with this Camry ignition cylinder. OK pull the plastic guard off encasing the steering column. Get a phillips head screwdriver and remove the 2 screws holding the little off-white connector at the rear of the module(it has the wires to the ignition running to it). Get a pair of pliers or a small crescent wrench and while trying to turn the key use the wrench to turn the little rod sticking out of the back of the module. Make sure your turning it WITH the direction the key is trying to turn it. It should immediate be freed. Wala IT WORKS! AND THATS WHY PEOPLE DONT TRUST MECHANICS! HOW CAN YOU CHARGE SOMEONE FOR THAT INFO?
Its a safety feature. Put your key in the ignition, push your turn signal lever down, turn the ignition. the car should start..of course remember to turn off your turn signal :-)
Checked to see if your steering wheel is locked. If not, then your problem is the tumblers. Replace the mechinical ignition switch. Cause- Having too many keys hanging with the ignition key.
teeth on fly wheel may be rounded or teeth on stearter drive are rounded.
Loud idle? no, not turn over ,yes
if all the other electronic parts work such as lights and and horn then it's probably a starter selinoid!
If the battery is good and the starter is good, then you must have a wire disconnected somewhere.
Yes, most likely its the starter if the battery is fully charged and it still wont crank. When you turn the key, you should hear a click. That click is the starter engaging. No click, means the starter is no good.
i have a 1990 Toyota corolla and my blinker wont turn left or right on its own I have to do it manualy i think its been cut off what do i need to buy to fix the problem

If the freewheel hub will not turn to the free position on a 1990 Toyota Hilux, it may need to be lubricated. The freewheel hub turns clockwise to free itself and counter clockwise to engage.
The starter solenoid/relay switch is going bad. Eventually, it will just click and not start.
Timing Belt?
Check your alternator and if that isn't it (but sounds like it) take a look at your starter.
you need to replace the flasher can in your vehicle there are 2 of these. 1 for the blinker and 1 for the hazards so make sure you replace correct one, they cost about 3 buccks and anyone can do it
chances are to start with the fuel filter if that's not it try the fuel pump
Your brake lights are actuated by a switch that is connected to the brake pedal or to the hydraulics. It's sticking in the closed position. Just follow the pedal down until you see the wire.
just give it a full flush in your toilet. Oh i believe a half flush wont work!
