My 94 Lumina APV (3.8L) would not start (when warm) - cranked but acted as if no spark or fuel. Mechanic replaced computer @ $350 (said too many error codes to diagnose problem) - did not resolve problem. Then he replaced the camshaft position sensor (CMP) @ $125 - that solved the problem. PB
I had a similar problem turns out the Alternator was bad.
sounds like pluged catalitic converter or egr valve
No. My first guess is the fuel filter got plugged up from some stuff on the bottom of the gas tank. Try replacing it.
the engine wont start unless you have the immobalizer key
it is most likely your fuel pump
This is probably due to the fact that you are out of gasoline, cars can't start without it. :(
soundes like your started may be going out or you have a fuel vapor lock problem.
check coolant temp sensor
In order of cost check: Fuse Fuel pump relay Fuel pump
fuel filter may be clogged, fuel pump may be weak.
when it wont start
next time it won't restart, try disconnecting temp sensor
You need to warm up the engine until the guage reaches halfway. Otherwise, you will flood the engine and it will not start. There are many links on the Internet on how to get it to restart, but I've had no luck. The dealer fixed it for free. By the way, the less it warms up, the worse it is! Do not start your engine and then just shut it off. It will not restart! ALWAYS warm it up before shutting it off.
the engine wont start
Try looking at replacing the crankshaft position sensor, i had a similar problem with my 92 lumina and i traced it back to a bad crank sensor.
Maybe Its The Muffler or the pistons hitting the engine
Could be you need a new fuel idle motor. Or you need new spark plugs
