The new alternator probably has a faulty voltage regulator.
13.6 to 14.5 volts with all accessories turned on, depending on temperature.
Pull the hot (+) positive lead on the battery while running...If car quits it's bad. Best way is to put voltmeter (Multimeter) on battery while running..if 13 + volts at idle then alternator is good, if 14+ then it's great!
13-15
It's a 12 V system, meaning that the alternator produces somewhere around 14.5 VDC during normal operation. Most modern ignition systems produce somewhere around 50K volt sparks.
Check output of the alternator--With voltmeter With engine running readings should be 13.8-14.2 volts lower means probably a bad alternator
Alternator is defective and is not keeping the battery charged. Or, you have a light or relay that is on pulling power from the battery. Start the engine and check the voltage at the battery with a digital volt meter. You should have 13.5 to 15.5 volts if the alternator is good.
13.9 to 14.3 volts with engine running.
The voltage regulator inside the alternator is bad.
Watts or Amps? Amps would be the alternator, don't know where you would find watts. Volts X Amps = Watts, for example 12 Volts X 55 Amp Alternator = 660 Watts
It's probably the Voltage regulator inside the Alternator.
the voltage regulator is built into the alternator, check voltage at battery connections should be 14.5 volts
13.5-16 volts DC
Check the output at the battery posts. With a multimeter it should be putting out between 13.5-15 volts.
Replace the alternator. It sounds like a defective regulator, and it is located inside of the alternator. The volts should never go any higher than 16.
It can put out too many volts and destroy the battery but not drain it. The alternator should put out between 13.5 to 16 volts.
Alternator is sending to much volts to battery. Suppose to turn itself off when battery gets to around 13 volts. May need new alternator.
Check the voltage at the battery with the engine running. It should read from 13.5 volts to 16 volts. If it reads lower than 13.5 volts the alternator is defective.
