Could be worn ball joints, worn steering linkages, worn/out of adjustment steering box and or worn/out of adjustment wheel bearings.

To remove the steering wheel on a 2001 Trans Am, first disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical issues. Next, remove the airbag by unscrewing the retaining bolts on the back of the steering wheel and carefully disconnecting the airbag connector. Once the airbag is removed, use a steering wheel puller to loosen the steering wheel by removing the center nut and pulling the wheel off the steering column. Make sure to note the alignment for reinstallation.
If I remember correctly, there are a several bolts that come off, but then you need a steering wheel puller.
