Whore. Maypoles are something men dance around. Painted is effectively mentioning make-up. Together it basically means someone who looks like a prostitute.
The similarities of Renaissance men and women were that they both had to be charming and know art. The differences were men had to create art while women had to inspire art and men had to strive in every field.
Renaissance women, as expected, stayed home to care for the children and the home. The men in the family worked out of the house, tending the fields or in merchant shops. Older children, both boys and girls, often worked alongside their fathers, to help contribute to the family funds.
El Greco, the renowned painter, sculptor, and architect of the Spanish Renaissance, was approximately 6 feet tall (183 cm). His height was somewhat unusual for his time, as the average height for men in the 16th century was considerably shorter. This stature may have contributed to his distinctive presence and personality in the artistic circles of his era.
Hatmaking is the manufacture of hats and head-wear. Millinery is the designing and manufacture of hats. A millinery shop is a store that sells those goods.A milliner or hatter designs, makes, trims, or sells hats.Millinery is sold to women, men and children, though some definitions limit the term to women's hats.[1] Historically, milliners, typically female shopkeepers, produced or imported an inventory of garments for men, women, and children, including hats, shirts, cloaks, shifts, caps, neckerchiefs, and undergarments, and sold these garments in their millinery shop.More recently, the term milliner has evolved to describe a person who designs, makes, sells or trims hats primarily for a female clientele. The origin of the term is probably the Middle English milener, meaning an inhabitant of the city of Milan or one who deals in items from Milan,[2] known for its fashion and clothing.

Not only that, but during the 20th century the traditional role also consisted of women not having the rights to vote and not being able to work or have a spot in politics. Voting, education, working, and being apart of politics was simply the men's job.

I believe the term is "conscription", similar to what we'd call being "drafted" in the 20th century.
You might be referring to the 1800's when you state the "18th century". The 1800's was actually the 19th century. The 1900's was the 20th century. 1. For infantry fighting; the main change was from muzzle loading firearms/cannon in the 19th century to breech loading cartridge firearms/cannons in the 20th century; plus the machinegun (which would not be possible with muzzle loaders). 2. 20th century navies were all steel, had submarines, and aircraft carriers. 19th century was transitioning from wood to steel, with experimental subs, and on the drawing board aircraft carriers (dreams). 3. 20th century saw men fighting in the sky. That was only a dream before the 20th century.
The gumboot dance originated among South African miners in the 20th century as a form of expression and communication while working in harsh conditions. Traditionally, it was predominantly performed by men, reflecting the gender roles and labor dynamics of that time. While modern interpretations may include women, the historical context and cultural significance of the dance have often kept it associated with male miners. Today, the gumboot dance has evolved and is enjoyed by performers of all genders, but its roots remain in a male-dominated environment.
