When we were young in the 50's we used Oxydol clothes washing detergent powder in a bucket of warm water. Lightly scrubbed canvas with a scrub brush and made sure to rinse suds off top and car immediately. The detergent will proubly remove any wax on paint so you will want to rewax car after a thorough canvas top cleaning.

I just got my top replaced for $700.00. It depends on whether it is canvas or vynl. Its about 350.00 more for the headliner. Vynl is cheaper, but not by much. Canvas lasts longer. Try calling an autmobile upholstry shop, and call a few for pricing.
