You can try acetone (nail polish remover), but it will probably damage the carpet color.

Try not to pick or bite your nails so much, put lots of lotion on it to make sure it is moisturized, and stretch your hands often, or you can put on nail polish and rings, of bracelets, if you have dark skin put on light colored nail polish/ring/bracelets, if you have light skin put on dark colored nail polish/ring/bracelets, hope that helped:)
