VW recommends you NEVER change the tranny fluid. Most mechanics disagree, if you are going to keep the car beyond 100k, you should change the oil every 60k or less. I don't know the details, but you must use the tranny fluid recommended by VW. No other. You have to drop the tranny pan and let all the oil drain out. Replace the filter. Replace the pan. Add fluid. Do NOT use the "flush" method promoted by many shops. It can damage the tranny.
you need to drop the transmisison oil pan,
A transmission oil change for a 2007 Nissan Sentra 2.0 costs about $700.
To change the oil on a 2007 Passat 3.6 liter engine first safely raise the vehicle and drain all the oil from the oil pan by removing the drain bolt. Install the drain bolt, and remove the oil filter. Replace the filter and oil. Then lower the vehicle.
You can't change the transmission fluid on any volkswagon Passat no matter what the year. I have a 2004 volkswagen passat and my friend accidently let the transmission fluid out instead of the oil , and I had to spend 311 dollars to get it all replaced. The volkswagon car dealership out here, where I live, said that they are the only ones who can change the transmission fluid on this particular model vehicle. Sorry, about that
The transmission fluid is not meant to ever need servicing unless the transmission pan has to be removed to repair the transmission. there are special tools involved that are a pain to use.
How do you change ML55 transmission oil?
The manufacturer recommends a synthetic 5W30 or 5W40meeting VW Spec 505.01 for a 2007 VW Passat 2.0.
You have to remove the trans oil pan to change fluid.
No, they are not. If you ask for an oil change they will change the engine oil & filter. They will not change the transmission fluid unless you ask for it.
