That is a long stitch. Just count 4 rows down and insert your hook in the stitch in line with the stitch on your present row but on the row 4 rows down. You will have to work very loosely and pull up your golden loop so that your stitches on the present row remain even and your work doesn't pull in.

What does sc in next ch-1 sp ch 1 mean in crochet pattern?

It means "single crochet". The stitch is the shortest of the crochet stitches and makes a very compact garment. Other notations can be double crochet, half double crochet, and even double triple crochet.Always read the whole pattern thoroughly before you begin your work.To sc in sc means to place your next single crochet stitch into the next single crochet stitch from the previous row. If your next stitch is a chain, for example, you would skip it and go to the next single crochet. Be aware that sometimes there will be a typographical error in a pattern, so be alert to how the stitch works in the pattern you are using.

What does this mean in a crochet pattern holding the last lp of each st on the hook sk next 2 sc 3tr in next sc?

I believe this would be: hold the last loop of each stitch on hook (which means to stop one short when doing your final pulling though for the stitch) skip next two single crochet (meaning to simply not do anything in those next two single crochet stitches and jump over them.) three triple crochet in next single crochet. (meaning to make three triple crochet stitches in the next single crochet after the ones you skipped.) I hope this will clear that up.

What is 2 double crochet in next chain twice Miss next chain 1 double chain in next chain 5 times?

Now, I'm not the best at reading crochet directions, personally, I like symbol crochet charts to read. To me, it's easier to understand.Okay, my best guess would be that you:double crochet twice into a single chain stitch (from the row below)do it again (double crochet 2 stitches into the next chain stitch)now, skip the next chain stitch (don't stitch anything into that chain stitch)now, double crochet into the following chain stitch.Without punctuation is it unclear whether you are to repeat the above stitch set in the order given five times, or whether it means to repeat the last instruction (double crochet in next chain) 5 times. If you have a photo of the finished piece you should be able to tell if there are five double crochets in a row as the last part of the repeat.

What does DS in crochet mean?

In crochet, "DS" stands for "double stitch," which typically refers to the "double crochet" stitch. This stitch is made by yarn over, pulling through the loop, yarn over again, and then pulling through the next two loops on the hook. It creates a taller and more open stitch compared to single crochet, making it popular for various patterns and textures.

What does dkip in next 2 stitches mean in crochet terms?

What does post mean in crochet?

The word "post" in crochet is referring to the whole stitch--generally a "tall" stitch (such as a double crochet, triple crochet, etc). The reason the instructions refer to the stitch in the row below, is so the crocheter understands that you are to stitch around the stitch below--the "post" of the stitch. Otherwise, if the instructions stated that you were to double crochet the next stitch, you would understand that you would be double crocheting into the top of the stitch below, versus crochet around the length of the stitch. You also notice that the instructions will say to "back post double crochet (bpdc)" which means to bring your stitch around the post from the back position. So, "front post, double crochet (fp dc)" would mean to bring your stitch in from the front side of your work.

What does this mean in a crochet pattern dc in each dc across and in top of ch-3?

Do a double crochet stitch in every chain stitch until you reach the end of the row. When you come up to the chain three that you did at the end of the previous row, look at where you chained 3 and then do a dc in the last chain stitch of your chain 3.

What does shell of single crochet mean in a crochet pattern?

After a quick scan of the relatedlink (listed below), I am understanding that a shell of single crochet stitches means that a shell pattern can be made by knotting a single stitch, then skipping two stitches, then making 5 double crochets in the next stitch. Then you would skip the next two stitches and start another shell by one stitch, skip two, make 5 doubles, skip two stitches, and start another. And so on.
