How can you make your crutches more comfortable?

Ive been on crutches sooo many times. one of the best things for me is to buy some prewrap from a sports store and just put a bunch of layers on the handles and the tops of the crutches. also, you can try the old Duct Tape a washcloth to the top. ive done that too.

You can also try purchasing a set of thick crutch pads to replace the flimsy crutch pads that come standard with most crutches. The best ones i have found come from a company called Remedy Mobility. I bought a pair last year and they did wonders for me. Crutch Remedy work AWESOME!!!!

To begin with, you will need a powered band saw to rip a board into two parts but still leave it joined at the part that will be the bottom of the crutch. Then cut another smaller piece of wood to make the upper part that goes below the shoulder. One piece, a dowel rod would work is cut to about 5" for the hand hold.

My advice though, if you want crutches, go to Goodwill or Salvation Army or such resale store and purchase a used pair. They usually have both underarm and forearm crutches available at a reasonable price.

And above all, learn the proper sizing and use of your crutches and the experience will be more pleasant. Good luck, hope this helped.
