I have a 04 v-star classic which i have removed the baffels from. I took a hole saw and cut around the small pipe, then welded a bar to the small center pipe and moved it back and forth until the two small welds that hold the pipe in place broke, also if you just want it a little louder you can start by drilling holes around the small center pipe.

To gut a glass pack muffler, first, remove it from the exhaust system by unbolting or cutting it out. Then, use a saw or cutting tool to carefully open the muffler casing along its length. Remove the internal packing material and baffles, leaving just the outer shell. Finally, reassemble the muffler by sealing it back up if desired, or simply install it back into the exhaust system as is.
Most Harley Davidson mufflers have "2" sets of baffles. one in the rear and one in the front close to the location where the muffler meets the head pipe. I have found the best wat to remove these is to remove the mufflers, stand them on end on a padded surface ) a few towels will do) and use a piece of galvanized plumbing pipe and a hammer and knock the baffles in until they are flat against the inside of the muffler. But, if you remove the baffles you will also need to increase the flow of gas to the valves or you will burn them out. The Vance and Hines Fuelpack or the Harley CD download ( dealer only) will do the trick. The bike will run so much better once you let it breath. Good Luck
