Behind the light inside the bonnet is a black plastic cover. Turn it clockwise (while looking from the front of the car). This will expose the connections behind the lights. Pull out the blck socket / connection. Theres a clip holding the light in place and its a bit tricky to get off! At the top of the clip, you need to push the clip hard to the left to resease the clip and then you can move it down. Pull the old bulb out and then replace with the new one being careful not to touch the actual glass of the bulb. Reconnect in reverse. Hope this helps. Kate
To adjust the headlights on a Peugeot 306, park the vehicle on a level surface facing a wall about 10-15 feet away. Turn on the headlights and mark the center of the beam on the wall with tape. Use a screwdriver to adjust the vertical and horizontal screws located on the headlight assembly until the beam aligns with the marked points. Make sure to check both headlights to ensure they are properly aligned.

could be the stalk (switch) this is a separate switch to the main beam but the whole stalk needs replacing

The Peugeot 306 Estate is not an actual place. The Peugeot 306 Estate is a type of French car built by the manufacturer Peugeot. These cars are no longer being made, but still can be purchased used.
If the low beams are not working on a Peugeot 306, it is possible that the low beam headlights are burned out. If the high beam headlamps are part of the same bulb, perhaps the wrong bulbs are in the sockets. Some older cars have both the high and low beams running off the same bulb and the low beam can burn out both sides at the same time.
