I would tell someone right away. I know it is harder said than done, but i knew someone who tried to commit suicide because of this. If you tell someone, they will not think any less of you. They just want the best for you. I would tell a mom or someone who is easy to talk to. Just remember. People are there for you. I am here for you, your family is here for you, and God is here for you.
If you are trying to help a person with Anorexia it is VERY unhelpful to try and shove food in their face, talk to them and don't try to control them
Most of the time bulimia starts with anorexia, but then maybe they go to somewhere with a lot of food and they lose control and binge. To get rid of the calories they purge an then this becomes an addiction. Bulimia is much more common than anorexia because not all bulimics have anorexia, but most anorexics have bulimic tendencies.
Control oneself and one's own life.
The scientific name for anorexia is Anorexia Nervosa.
Issues of power and control are often central to the development of anorexia, as individuals may use food restriction as a means to exert control over their lives when other areas feel chaotic or overwhelming. This desire for control can stem from various factors, including perfectionism, societal pressures, or experiences of trauma. Additionally, the illness itself can create a false sense of empowerment, as individuals may feel a sense of achievement in their ability to restrict food intake. Ultimately, the struggle for power and control can perpetuate the cycle of anorexia, making recovery more challenging.
