You can find the five digit numbers for the keypad on a 2006 Mercury Mountaineer in the owners manual. You can also call the dealership and ask for a the code or take the vehicle in for a new code to be programmed.

No - the starting system is totally separated from the remote entry.
On our 2004 we had the same problem and it was something with remote starter it was only 30.00 part and has worked great since!
When you open you back gate you should have a round knotch on the right side and the extention that fits the jack also fits the spare tire release. Counterclockwise, and that should work. No special or spare key needed just your tools provided.
Take it to an authorized dealer parts department , along with proof of ownership, and they can make you the extra kep. I was told it is best to make a third key and keep it in your lockbox with title, and you won't need to have all the ownership issues to make a replacement again.

If keys are lost to a vehicle call someone to bring a spare if possible. If not then call a locksmith to have them replaced.
