I had this Problem too,I had to remove the old KASPERSKY internet PROTECTION in the control panel,then redownloaded it from the Kaspersky site,then put in your activation code and update the databases in Kaspersky.The Icon don't come up initially, but just right clik any where on the desktop,then double clik the Kaspersky gadget & voila.
