There are two knock sensors on your engine, and they are underneath the intake manifold. You will have to remove the intake to get to the sensors.
remove the sensors and clean it. then put it back. if the warning light is still replace the sensors it is cheap
You have to remove the front bumper to gain access to sensors.
It is behind the starter. You will have to remove the starter to even see it.

I don't know how to remove the sensors but I'm interested why you want them off. I just installed after market ones on my 2007 Nissan Frontier truck and they don't work worth a darn. The 6.0L has 2 knock sensors and there both underneith the intake manifold. You can not see are get to them until you remove the intake.
To replace the knock sensors on a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche with a 5.3L engine, first disconnect the battery and remove the intake manifold to access the sensors located on the engine block. Carefully disconnect the electrical connectors from the old knock sensors and remove them using a socket wrench. Install the new knock sensors, reconnect the electrical connectors, and reassemble the intake manifold. Finally, reconnect the battery and start the engine to ensure proper operation.
