To replace the shift solenoid on a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD, first, disconnect the battery and remove the transmission pan to access the solenoids. Drain the Transmission Fluid and remove the valve body, then locate the shift solenoid, which is typically found on the valve body assembly. Disconnect the electrical connector, remove the old solenoid, and install the new one, reassembling the valve body and transmission pan in reverse order. Finally, refill the transmission fluid and reconnect the battery.
