How do you replace oil filter on 2000 Mercedes c230?

The fuel pump is located outside the car not inside the fuel tank. The fuel pump is next to the rear differential. Must remove plastice cover in order to access fuel pump. It is under neat next to differential. Also loosen clamp screw and slide fuel pump out. reconnect hoses to fuel filter. the fuel filter is also attached to this clamp.

To remove the oil filter on a SLK 230. Open the hood look at the silver plastic cover, to the right ,(standing in front of the engine.

If you look at the right side, you will see a large air intake pipe comming out of the right top side of the engine.

Take your hand and feel the silver and black plastic cover, looking very close, you will see a separation, it is actually 2 pices. take your hand, and reach under the plastic, and pull up. It will take some force, because there are 3 posts, with rubber gromits, holding it in place. If is does not pop off, get some wd/40 and spay under the cover. This will help loosen it. Shake it and it will come off.

After removing, the cover. Look directly into the space, and you will see a black round plastic cover. This is the filter cover. It is also made of plastic. So be careful, you will need a cup-type filter wrench/socket, to remove the filter. right to tighten, left to loosen. Your replacement filter (OEM) MB highly recommended. will have a long filter, with a new o-ring, and a new copper seal washer. When you replace the plastic filter cap. Do-not overtighten, you will brake the cap

Hi, for a 1999 model, looking at the engine from the front of the car: look for a round 3" diameter black plastic cap at the right side of the engine just to the left of the Power Steering pump. The cap is threaded to the engine on top of the oil filter. You will need a oil filter removal tool (available at Auto Zone and others) to remove the cap. Put some rags around to avoid a mess. The filter will come attached to the cap. Install in the reverse order . Dont forget to replace the o ring at the cap. Good luck!
