I'm not sure what you mean by set. This is a difficult and complicated procedure. I'd check on lexusownersclub.com forums as I know there is detailed tutorials. vbdenny
I have a 1990 LS400 and I have never heard of a timing reset button. The timing is set by the timing belt and controlled by the computer. Let me know if you find out there is such a thing. vbd
You do not have the correct timing set for that car.
A person can time the timing belt on a 1990 Daihatsu Rocky SUV by first aligning the timing marks on the sprockets with the timing chain. The cam shaft and crankshaft are then aligned and the timing belt is slipped over the sprockets.
There should be timing marks on the pulley & you simply align them. Crank at 12/cam at 6.
how do you set timing on a 92 geo prizm if timing belt has broken
set the harmonic balancer pully to zero there are 2 notches on the cam shaft pullies that should align with a mark on the mounts
To set the timing on a 1999 Lexus GS300, first ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke for cylinder one. Align the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley with the timing indicator on the engine. Then, check the camshaft alignment marks to ensure they are positioned correctly. If the marks are misaligned, you may need to adjust the timing belt or chain accordingly.
I just changed a timing belt in a buddys 1990 accord and you need to set the marks on the pulleys to same direction as your crank pulley mark is.
It does NOT have a timing belt, That engine has a timing chain and gears.
how i can set 1997 Mitsubishi diamante timing beltAnswerhow i can set 1997 Mitsubishi diamante timing belt
Correct timing setting is very easy to set, but one cannot tell you what you must set it to, especially if you want to fine tune it. Because it varies between countries due to ultitude and sea level conditions. Best possible answer would be to put it back to what you manual says i.e 10degrees for an exampleTiming is set by aligning the timing belt marks with the cam shaft sprockets and the crank pulley.
The timing is set by aligning the timing marks on the camshaft pulleys with the crankshaft pulley. The easiest way is to use the markings on the timing belt. Then turn the engine by hand through 2 revolutions to make sure the timing marks line up.
