either replace them or add motor honey to go for a longer perion without noise....
how do you ajust the lifters on a Chevy s 10. its making a taping noise
Hydraulic lifters are nonadjustable. Chances are the noise is coming from play in rocker arm, or ignition out of time. If you are sure it is the lifter, then it must be replaced.
Sometimes putting a jug of transmission fluid in your oil will clean the junk out of your lifters and stop your noise - if it is an older vehicle with adjustable rockers you can adjust and get rid of the knock.
The lifters are failing and need replaced to stop the noise.
Usually it's the lifters in the engine making that noise until they become fully pressurized with oil, then they stop ticking, like on the 3 liter caravans.
If the hydraulic lifters are making noise they shouldn't be making, then there's probably more to it, and it's likely a problem which should be covered under such a warranty.
When they don't feel like making noise and at night.
Check the oil. Failed lifters/rocker arms would not be uncommon.
Lubricate.
as far as I know, you don't torque lifters, you adjust them. each one has to be adjusted individually.
You can't. If is making a ticking noise you need new lifters. Cheap fix is to put in oil treatment for lifters and hope for the best.
To stop engine lifter noise, first ensure that the engine oil is at the correct level and is of good quality, as low or dirty oil can cause lifter issues. If the noise persists, consider using an oil additive designed to clean and reduce lifter noise. If the problem continues, it may indicate worn lifters or other internal engine issues, necessitating a professional inspection and possible replacement of the lifters. Regular maintenance and oil changes can help prevent such problems in the future.
