First remove the front rack by removing two bolts on the top of the bumper, two bolts on the fender, and two rearward bolts. Remove the hood and remove the radiator cap. Remove the seat and driver's side engine cover. Remove the left wheel floor board and then remove the plastic cover that is around the pull start. The water pump will be visible from here on. The drain bolt will be located just beneath a pipe coming from the radiator. Unscrew this bolt and out goes the engine coolant. After draining, screw back in the drain bolt and pour new coolant into the radiator.
The Yamaha 850 XS is an air cooled bike. There is no radiator to fill.
there isn't a radiator drain plug. you have to remove the lower radiator hose from the radiator to do a drain and fill.
The radiator drain plug should be located on the bottom of the radiator on the passenger side. Open that, let the old coolant flow into a drain pan, replace the drain plug once the coolant is out and the radiator is flushed, then fill it up through the radiator cap.
First open up the radiator, then there's a drain plug on the bottom of the radiator. Fill with water and drain until clear. Fill it up and good to go.
To change the rear differential oil on a Yamaha Grizzly 660, first ensure the ATV is on a level surface and secure it with a block. Remove the drain plug from the rear differential and allow the old oil to completely drain out. ON THE BOTTOM OF THE RADIATOR THERE IS A SPIGOT TO DRAIN THE RADIATOR TURN THIS TILL IT OPENS UP AND YOURE RADIATOR FLUID WILL DRAIN RIGHT OUT THE BOTTOM THEN TO FILL MIX ANTIFREEZE AND WATER 50/50 UNLESS ALREADY PREMIXED THEN FILL START CAR UP AND CONTINUE FILLING TILL RADIATOR IS FULL MAKE SHURE U CLOSE THE SPIGGOT IN THE BOTTOM OF THE READIATOR FIRST BEFORE FILLING
Engine cool. Open the radiator cap. Open the radiator drain plug. Open the engine block drain/drains. There are two for the V6,one on each bank. Let coolant drain. Close all drains and fill engine with distilled water. Repeat drain. Fill with distilled water again. Drain . Close drains and fill with 50/50 mixture of coolant. Run engine with radiator cap off. When air is completely expelled,refill to top of radiator. Don't forget to drain and refill the overflow tank.
Remove the drain plug from the bottom of the radiator. Allow the coolant to completely drained out. Replace the drain plug to its original position. Fill the radiator with new coolant.
Open the radiator drain and let drain into a catch basin. Run water through the radiator by filling through the radiator cap with a hose till the water coming out is clear. Fill through the overflow bottle if there is not a radiator cap present.
Empty the radiator - and re-fill it ! Car anti-freeze is added to the water in the radiator so, if you drain it and re-fill it, you can add a fresh quantity of anti-freeze into the radiator filler hole.
