Your clutch is operated by a cable , it's not a hydraulic operated clutch on the 2000 Ford Mustang
pull on it. The sheath takes up slack... makes the cable shorter.
To fit a clutch cable on a 2000 Long Wheelbase Transit van, start by safely lifting the vehicle and removing any necessary underbody panels for access. Disconnect the old clutch cable from the clutch pedal and the transmission lever. Install the new cable by threading it through the appropriate guides and securing it to the pedal and transmission. Finally, adjust the cable tension as needed and check for proper operation before reassembling any removed components.

Why don't you take it to a mechanic before you ruin your truck by riding the clutch? The chattering could be engine knock because your engine is out of tune. When you ride the clutch, the clutch slips and puts less strain on your engine as you are burning out your clutch.
im thinking you need a new clutch.
The 2000 Beetle has a hydraulic clutch, which is self-adjusting. It's not self-BLEEDING, though, so if it feels real mushy you first figure out where it's leaking--air's getting in there somewhere--fix the leak, then bleed it like it was a brake system.
First check for mechanical interference from the clutch mechanism to throttle linkage.
The clutch pedal can be adjusted for height. There is no adjustment for the actual clutch on a 2000 Accent.
