KATUM KUTUM is an art (wooden sculpture) made from driftwood. The word 'Katum Kutum' was used by Abanindranath Tagore (http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abanindranath_Tagore) in his book about this art. 'Katum' means structure & 'kutum' means relatives. The sculptures which made from driftwood or discarded and left found tree roots as well as its branches are alike to our relatives, so these are katum kutum.
