The best thing to use is regular yellow wood glue (Elmer's Wood Glue or equivalent). This will form a stronger bond with most woods than pretty much any other glue (stronger than the wood itself), and is also cheap. Make sure the surfaces you are gluing lie flat against each other. Spread the glue evenly over one surface, then clamp the boards together overnight. You will get a much stronger bond if you clamp the boards than if you just press them together and leave them.

The only real exception is very hard, nonporous oily wood like rosewood. In that case, it may be better to use quickest epoxy. Slowest is a little stronger, but it can take months to cure completely.

I'm assuming you mean 2 wooden boards. - The best glue for this is some version of PVA glue. White glue will do a reasonably efficient job. However, if you want it really strong then get a bottle of TiteBond 2 at your local wood work products store or Home Depot or Rona. For a really good joint, clamp the 2 pieces after bonding them, and leave clamped for at least 4 hours.

TiteBond 2 is the best wood glue that I've tried. It's commonly available in most hardware stores, Rona and Home Depot. It's a little more expensive than white glue or Elmer's, but worth the difference if gluing wood. -To use it to full advantage, clamp all joint for 4 hours after gluing.
