If your 1982 Toyota Supra won't start but the fuel pump works when directly wired, the issue may lie in the fuel pump relay, wiring, or a faulty ignition switch that isn’t supplying power to the pump. Since it starts with starter fluid, it indicates that the engine itself is functional but not receiving fuel. Check for power at the fuel pump connector and ensure the relay and associated fuses are functioning correctly. Additionally, inspect the fuel pump wiring for any damage or poor connections.
You really dont want to use starter fluid on a 91' because it can cause severe damage to your engine
Toyota T-IV fluid.
easiest and safest way to spray starter fluid is to spray it straight into air cleaner. you will not need to remove anything to do this and the engine will suk the fluid thru you really need to have the throttle body looked at ,as starter fluid is primarily for use in a diesel, not a gas engine
Toyota calls for a fluid that is Toyota T-IV compatible. If you go to a Toyota dealer, they have plenty. At auto parts stores, you'll find Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle fluid, which is compatible with Toyota's juice.
Spray a starter fluid into the intake to get the engine running. If the fuel pump does not start pumping, it is defective, or the fuel filter is clogged. These pumps are self priming.

Where is the brake fluid filler located on a 2004 Toyota Corolla?
where is the location of transmission fluid dipstick on a Toyota highlander hybrid 2006
Yes. On the dipstick it will indicate which fluid to use. If it states "Use Toyota TIV" or "Use Toyota T4" you can use Mobil brand fluid called ATF 3309 (the Toyota T4 fluid is made by Mobil). You can also use Valvoline or Castrol ATF fluid labeled for multi-vehicle import.
