I had a problem with that when I bought my Tiburon Gt (2003) it would only work on one side of my car. Come to find out you must pull out the knobs for the bass. First just push it so that it pops out just like you where turning your bass up or down, then give it a little pull, to pull it out even further and see what happens.
If that doesnt work, i would suggest going to your local Hyundai dealership.
