i have a 1994 geo tracker and i asked the guy at autozone about this. he said that there is a sensor that makes the light come one. you have to disengage the sensor to make it go off. take it up to autozone or any auto shop that does free work and have them do it. 1991 Geo Tracker 4x4, engine will turn, but will not start.

If the service engine soon light is flashing on the 1997 Geo Tracker, you might have a sensor that has been activated because your vehicle is due to be serviced. You could also have a sensor that is malfunctioning.
If you go to AutoZone .com and check with there repair manuals on-line you can find the engine codes for your tracker
They don't have automatic light features.
