To adjust the ignition timing on a 1991 Hyundai Excel GL, first, locate the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley and the timing scale on the engine block. Using a timing light, start the engine and connect the light to the number one cylinder's spark plug wire. Aim the timing light at the pulley to read the timing mark against the scale. If adjustments are needed, loosen the distributor hold-down bolt and rotate the distributor until the desired timing is achieved, then retighten the bolt. Always refer to the vehicle's service manual for the specific timing specifications.
try adjusting the ignition timing(or getting a mechanic to do it)
Right from the 1991 Explorer , the 4.0 L OHV engine was EDIS ( electronic distributorless ignition system ) using a coil pack instead of a distributor
ignition problem
Were are the timing marks on a 1991 acura legend
wich engine do you have?
8 degrees
10 degrees advance
If you mean ignition timing it will be 10 degrees BTC.
Probably computer controlled and not adjustable
IF you have already set the timing to spec, you alter timing by loosening the distributor and turning the base to adjust timing. You will need a timing light to measure the timing. Pull out the spout before adjusting so the computer will not alter the timing. HTH.
you should set it at 0 degrees btdc
