Yes.
But running without a thermostat will cause the engine to be overcooled, because the restriction normally provided by the thermostat on the flow of coolant from the radiator around the engine has been removed, so too much coolant will flow and the engine will run too cool.
If the engine is not up to temperature it uses more fuel, will produce less power, will wear more, and will not heat the cabin heater as well. So it's not a good idea to run without a thermostat.
It is acceptable to run without a thermostat in an emergency, e.g. if the thermostat has failed and doesn't open, causing the engine to overheat. Just make sure you replace it as soon as you can.
Running without the thermostat may also trip the check engine light to come on.
NO,never good to run any car without a thermostat will ruin your engine
Take your thermostat out and put everything back together, run your car without a thermostat... If your car no longer overheats, replace your thermostat.
you can run without one but you should have one to maintain proper engine operating temperature
it can start but it won't go far as the engine will "explode" because of the increase of temperature. A thermostat regulates the temperature system of your car.. Usually the engine will run too cold with out a thermostat. That will hurt the efficiency of the engine.
Thermostat will open sooner car may not necessarily run cooler
Yes It is not good to run any car without a thermostat. Initially the car will run too cold and use extra fuel as the choke will remain on, then it will overheat as the thermostat is needed to slow the flow of water through the radiator for it to cool effectively.
If stuck open the car will run cold. If stuck closed the car will run hot.
Vehicle will run without a thermostat - however will not run as efficiently and will have not heat
Any car can be run without a thermostat BUT the effiency of the car will suffer as the vechicle will either take a long time to reach its peak operating temprature - or it never will (depending on the outside temp). In general, the lower the temp, the richer the fuel mixture will be - so you'll be wasteing gas.
if you are going to install anything other than a thermostat, then you are better off leaving nothing. the car will run find without a thermostat, in warm weather. it will still run without a thermostat in cold weather, but i do not recommend it because it will leave the valve open and the radiator fluid will be constantly flowing through the motor. what the thermostat does is block off the flow until the car reaches approx 170 degrees F. then once it reaches this temperature, the thermostat opens up allowing the fluid to flow, and thus cooling off the motor. so, without a thermostat it will just constantly flow, and will simply take longer to warm up. I've ran with without a therm. throughout winter without a problem, but you will have to let it run for 10-15 minutes until the temp. warms up. the thermostat is only a $12-$20 piece, so at that price, why not have one?
Usually the car would run cool, unless the thermostat is stuck partially open.
