1998 Isuzu Amigo did not have the options to have a hard top. 1999-2003 had hardtops. yes you can uses a 99-03 hard top on a 1999 (I did) have to change some wiring and some bolts.
http://www.geocities.com/madisoneastclassof1993/amigo I found this site to be helpful for removing the non-removable hardtop on 2nd gen Amigos...
To change a 1999 Isuzu Amigo from a soft top to a hard top, first, remove the soft top by unfastening any screws, clips, or fasteners holding it in place. Next, carefully detach the soft top frame and any associated components. Once the soft top is removed, align the hard top with the vehicle's mounting points and secure it using the appropriate hardware. Ensure all seals are properly fitted to prevent leaks and check that all electrical connections, if applicable, are reconnected.
I am pretty sure that gen 2 amigos (97-03) are non-removable
yes sir. 98 and 99s share the same top.
To remove the hard top from an Isuzu Amigo, start by ensuring the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the ignition is off. Disconnect any wiring for the rear defrost or other electrical components, if applicable. Next, locate and remove the bolts or screws securing the hard top to the body, usually found at the rear and sides. Finally, carefully lift the hard top off with assistance, as it can be heavy and cumbersome.
To remove the hard top from a 2000 Isuzu Amigo, first ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface. Begin by removing the bolts that secure the hard top to the body, typically found along the edges of the top and in the rear. Once the bolts are removed, carefully lift the hard top off, ensuring you have assistance as it can be heavy and cumbersome. Finally, store the hard top in a safe location to prevent damage.
sounds like a bad power stearing pump
the manufactures answer is no, but the answer to me is yes.... in order to remove it from a 98 or newer amigo you must remove the rear Glass window and that requires removing 1 thing of weather stripping from the vehicle, so if you dont mind that then the top can be removed.AnswerYes, my son has a 1999 Isuzu Amigo with a removable hard top. AnswerInterestingly, just last eve, after seeing an ad for a convertible one and being unfamiliar with the model, I was researching these vehicles. The seemingly expert discussion I read said that they only made 2 versions: Convertible and fixed hard top. That was because they made a study of Jeep CJ owners (it's most similar competition), which indicated something like 97% never removed the hardtop on those vehicles, and making the top removeable costs like $500 more and has engineering problems. The convertible Amigo has a canvas (supposidly) easily retractable top where the hartop portion would otherwise be. Unfortunately, it also has plastic windows.I own a 1992 Isuzu Amigo that has a removable hard top and the window is glass... In fact it only takes two bolts to remove it and it comes off pretty easy. I'm a girl and I remove it myself but, of course after I remove the bolts I need a little help to lift it off...
To install a top on a 1991 Isuzu Amigo, first ensure you have the correct replacement soft top or hard top for the model. Begin by removing any existing top and cleaning the mounting area. Align the new top with the mounting points and secure it using the provided hardware or clips, making sure it is taut and properly fitted. Finally, check for any gaps or loose areas to ensure a weather-tight seal.
Having a head gasket replaced on a 2000 Amigo can be replaced but it can be hard depending on if the mechanic has the right instructions. Also, depending on the condition of the head gasket can depend on how hard it is replace the gasket.
