I have done this on a 2009 Outback: Passenger side: Slide seat back remove two bolts in the front then slide seat forward and remove two bolts in back. Tip seat backwards to remove any cables for heated seat. I did not do the driver's side but looks the same except probable more wires for the power seat.

You must remove the transmission, the front differential is built right in.
Use your key on the left side by the seat. turn it counterclockwise. and the front seat should pull off. Once you remove the front seat there are two releases to remove the rear seat.
Move seat fully forward, remove side trim, remove seat belt retaining bolt, remove seat tracks rear bolts, flip seat upwards, disconnect wiring, remove seat.....
You need to remove the rear seat before you can removed the front. First removed the one screw on the back of the rear seat then removed the two screws on the front of the rear seat. You can not get to the front screws until you remove the rear screw.
