To change the axle shaft in a 2001 Toyota Echo, first, safely lift the vehicle and remove the wheel. Then, detach the brake components and the lower control arm to access the axle. Use a socket to remove the axle nut, and then pull the axle out of the hub and transmission. Finally, install the new axle by reversing the steps, ensuring all components are securely reattached.
