Had this issue a couple times and couldn't keep remembering so decided to answer since Kia sucks and has no answers just problems. LOL ... All you do is: with the heater or A/C on push the AMB button and the down arrow to the thermostat at the same time for a few seconds. I have a 2003 Kia Optima and it works for mine.Anytime you disconnect battery source you will need to do this unless u wanna keep converting:) AMB and the OFF button will not work on this model. It will only turn off heat and a/c.
