The speedo cluster comes out by removing the lower plastic (one 10mm bolt and 4 screws) under the steering column. Next remove plastic covering column (helps ease the removal of cluster). Remove 2 retaining screws on cluster cover and remove. Next remove 4 retaining screws on cluster and pull away enough to reach around back and pinch retainer on speedo cable to disconnect. This can be difficult as the cable may bind and the cluster will not pull out far enough to get your hand in to pinch the retainer. If this happens, push the cable thru from the firewall as best you can. It is tight. To remove wiring, push on clip of retainer and gently pull back till it's removed. Remember to replace with a head from the same configuation of truck. A 4 cyl will not work for a 6 cyl truck. As usual, a 4 runner head will fit a pickup providing they are compatible years.
