Mk1 Mr2's do not have power steering
To change the light bulb behind the speedometer on a 1992 Toyota MR2, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. Remove the screws holding the instrument cluster in place and carefully pull it out. Locate the bulb holder at the back of the speedometer, twist it counterclockwise to remove it, and replace the old bulb with a new one. Finally, reassemble the cluster and reconnect the battery.

check to see if you have a speed sencer if not change your cable
To replace the speedometer cable on a 1991 Toyota MR2, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal and remove the instrument cluster by unscrewing the necessary screws and gently pulling it out. Locate the speedometer cable at the back of the cluster and unscrew it from the speedometer. Next, trace the cable to the transmission, disconnect it there, and replace it with a new cable by reversing the removal steps. Finally, reassemble the instrument cluster and reconnect the battery.
