To change the front rotors on a 1998 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, first, lift the vehicle and remove the front wheels. Next, remove the caliper by unbolting it and carefully hanging it aside to avoid stress on the brake line. Then, remove the caliper bracket, if necessary, and slide the old rotor off the hub. Finally, install the new rotor, reattach the caliper and bracket, and ensure everything is tightened properly before putting the wheels back on and lowering the vehicle.
For a 1998 Mazda 626 the minimum thickness is .866 inches for the front rotor and .315 inches for the rear rotor. This is the same for the 4 and 6 cylinder versions.

Jack it up (make sure to use jack stands), remove tire. I assume you are talking about front rotors as the back is a drum. There are 2 12mm bolts on the back side of the caliper that need to be removed then the caliper should be easily removed from the rotor. At this point the rotor will just slide off the hub.
