To change the rear left brake light on a 2005 Corolla, first, open the trunk and locate the access panel on the side where the brake light is. Remove the screws or clips securing the panel and gently pull it away to access the brake light assembly. Twist the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it, replace the old bulb with a new one, and then reassemble the panel back into place. Finally, test the brake light to ensure it's working properly.

tail light bulbs has two filaments inside. One for regular lights and a second for brake lights. One filament is burnt out. Change the bulb.
You might want to check the brake light bulbs on both sides to make sure the are in correctly and clean sockets.
Look for a fuse on the left-panel below the driver. It controls the inside middle stop-brake light and the transmission button.

You need to change the bulb. The filiment for the brake light part of the bulb is "open" or burned out. The filiment for the tail light portion will still work.
Left the rear hatch and remove the headliner trim and headliner ( Partially). Unplug the brake light wire that leads to the light housing. Loosen 2 screws below the light and remove carefully.
